I was like, wow, that first off, I thought it was a beautiful thing because she would pick a guy with HIV to be the final guy standing, and then didn't see it as a barrier right. the guy that the bachelor was at Prince Charming decided was HIV-positive, and I thought about it. I've always wondered why there hasn't been a gay bachelor, and because the whole season was available like I said, aired a few a year or two ago, I only watched the first episode and the final few episodes the guy who was chosen at the end. How can you have a relationship like that? It took me a year and a half to start dating again after he passed away, but I'm still apprehensive when it comes to sex, since we always had oral sex without protection for almost 4 years, and I just took his word that he didn't have hiv, that's not counting his other health issues he had diabetes and schizophrenia, which was hard to deal with either, i would recommend to get tested and have a serious conversation with your partner with what is bothering you in order for things to get better but he shouldn't have never lie to you when it comes to something as serious as hiv, i wish you the best and hopefully everything works out for you, God bless.Last night, I wanted to watch something wrong eating dinner at home and I stumbled upon this show that I guess I didn't even know I texted until I just stumbled upon it last night, but it was called finding Prince Charming and it was basically like a rip off of The Bachelor and it was basically The Bachelor but with gay men and I was surprised that I had never heard of it because that seems like you know kind of a revolutionary show. I understand your anxiety, my case I knew after he passed away, which was really stressful for me, i did figure out he was on hiv meds when I found some of his medication and confronted him, but he got mad at me and said that wasn't my business. Idk exactly if this subreddit acts as a chat room but feel to drop me a pm if you need any more advice on this. Only you know if you can see past this as you said it doesn’t seem to be his HIV status bothering you or your worry of possible exposure to it but more to do so the circumstance in you finding out about it and the manner of his withholding. I think with this situation you and him may differ on where boundaries relating to acceptable amounts of disclosure are positioned.
GAY DATING ADVICE FOR MEN WITH HIV FREE
As said before, due to the fact he was sexually engaging with you in the manner he was without making you aware of his status to me signifies he is undetectable and as a result you are free from risk, however morally given you outright asked him of his sti status you are well within your right as well to see it unacceptable that you wasn’t made aware. With HIV it seems there is a massive social grey area as he was/is well within his right (providing he is undetectable and its legal to do in your state) not to have to disclose his status to you as within these parameters he poses no risk to you.

These are all theoretical questions based on aspects seen in experiences previously shared and they are just to help contextualise possible responses which may be shared. How do you navigate online dating such as tinder? Do you avoid doing so or if you use it do you provide possible casual partners of your status? Has it impacted on the amount of sex you now have?

Has it led you to being single for longer or not?ĭo you struggle to enter into relationships or physical intimacy or are things as before?ĭo you disclose your status (if it’s not illegal to do so)? Seen a lot of experiences shared by gay couples living with hiv but I was wondering how has dating for those of you who are heterosexual been?Īny different to before being hiv positive?Īny practices you now engage with when dealing with sexual partners?
